Current Residents- If one of our new residents happens to be your new next-door neighbor make them feel welcome by giving them a wave!

Sandy Springs Website

Sandy Springs has gone digital! With the help of one of our neighbors, Nikki Aviles, Sandy Springs now has an official new website, www.sandyspringsneighborhood.com !

Navigating the Site Currently, our new site has a copy of basic community documents including a copy of our covenants and restrictions. It will serve as a way for homeowners to contact the HOA and for the Board to distribute newsletters.

  1. Home Page - The home page provides a quick overview of our neighborhood

  2. Join Our Community Page- A more detailed version of what our community is all about.

  3. Contact- Use the Contact page to easily reach the Board.

  4. Sandy Springs Residents- This page is meant for Sandy Springs Residents. Here you will find a copy of important documents, the latest news, frequently asked questions, and more! This page will be updated regularly.

Sandy Spings Nextdoor Group

We have created a group on Nextdoor for Sandy Springs residents to communicate! This is a private group, and can only be found using a private invite link. Please note- Nextdoor has strict guidelines on what can and can not be posted. Any posts that include derogatory language, political sentiments, assertions on the pandemic, and more will be automatically flagged, and your Nextdoor account may be revoked. So, Keep It Friendly!

While the Sandy Springs site is still undergoing a few changes, we encourage you to click around and get familiar with the layout and the information you will find. We also encourage you to provide feedback and ideas on what to include!

Recent Observations

Conversations and Concerns, Neighborhood Projects and Improvements
  1. There have been reports of coyote sightings in our neighborhood along the easement underneath the powerlines. Please be vigilant of small pets and children during the evening, night, and morning hours. The presence of coyotes in our area is not new, but we must remain vigilant.

  2. There have been a few complaints about the driving speed in the neighborhood. Please slow down and encourage your visitors to do the same. We want to continue to be a pedestrian-friendly neighborhood.

  3. Help us maintain Sandy Spring’s Sprinkler systems in working order. We repair sprinkler heads monthly due to drivers parking or driving over grass. Let’s keep our repair costs down. Do not drive or park over the grass!

Past and Upcoming Neighborhood Projects and Improvements
  1. After many attempts, the greenbelt irrigation system is now functional! The meter stand and electrical components were replaced, and all pipe breaks are repaired.

  2. Quotes to repair or replace the Parks Gazebo have been requested.

  3. Quotes to install cameras at the northern entrance to the neighborhood have been requested.

Financials

Income and expenses through 5/20/2022 are presented and categorized below.

House Keeping

  • Lawns – Lawns are one of the most visible parts of our properties. It is only with the cooperation of all homeowners that we can maintain our community standards and protect our home values. Please maintain your lawns weekly with consistent pest & fertilization treatments and water per the local irrigation guidelines. Please maintain weekly yard mowing, edging, and trimming, and replace dead sod patches when necessary with a similar sound and healthy plant materials.

  • Yard Waste - Yard waste is picked up on Wednesday. Yard waste should not be placed at the curb until the night before pick-up. Tree branches/shrub clippings, etc., need to be cut down to 4-foot sections and bundled for pick up by waste management. Waste Management will NOT pick up any yard waste that is not cut and bundled.

  • Please slow down! Please remember children and pets live here. The speed limit is 25 mph.

  • Parking along the Greenbelt: Please do not park or drive on the greenbelt grass. There are sprinkler heads located along here, and they are costly to repair.

  • To maintain the consistency of our neighborhood, please make sure an application is submitted to the Architectural Review Board for any exterior improvements. This includes modifying existing fences, new fencing, painting the exterior of your home, replacing any exterior doors or windows, adding pools and sheds, and any major landscaping plans.

  • The yearly dues for 2023 remain the same, $365.00 (a dollar a day), and are due 12/31/2022.

Thank you for reading this month's newsletter! As always, we welcome and look forward to hearing your comments and suggestions! Email the board at sandyspringshoa.board@gmail.com or contact us by visiting our new website www.sandyspringsneighborhood.com.

Sincerely,

Your Sandy Springs Homeowner Association Board Members,

Robert Branson, President Ernest Gainor, Vice President

Carlos Estrella, Secretary/Treasurer
